VEGE DCN7 Remanufactured Long Block Crate Engine — Chevy 350 H.O. TPI, 1987–1992 Camaro & Firebird
Bring your third-gen Camaro or Firebird back to its factory-fresh best. The VEGE DCN7 is a fully remanufactured Camaro engine — the Chevy 350 H.O. (5.7L) small block with roller camshaft, exactly as installed in 1987–1992 Camaros, IROC-Zs, Firebirds and Trans Ams. With cylinder heads installed and torqued to specification, this long block drops into your L98 TPI application using your original tuned-port intake, fuel injection and ignition. Crated and shipped fast across Europe from NH Race Engine.
Why Choose the VEGE DCN7?
The 1987–1992 Camaro’s L98 350 TPI is one of the most beloved small-blocks of the era — smooth torque, distinctive intake howl, and the heart of the IROC-Z legend. But after 35+ years, most surviving engines are tired: worn rings, leaky seals, tired valvetrains and unknown histories.
The DCN7 is built to factory specification by VEGE’s certified remanufacturing process: every core is completely disassembled to individual components, cleaned, crack-tested, measured and machined back to OEM tolerances. Each engine is reverse-engineered — known original design defects are eliminated before reassembly, not copied. Wear components are replaced new, and the finished long block is tested and calibrated before being vacuum-sealed, corrosion-treated and crated for dispatch. You receive a zero-hour engine with the correct H.O. roller cam configuration for your TPI application.
Key Features & Benefits
- Correct 1987–1992 H.O. 350 Configuration: Roller camshaft, 2-bolt mains and 1-piece rear seal — the exact L98 specification for third-gen Camaro and Firebird applications.
- True Remanufacture to Factory Spec: Complete teardown, crack testing, machining to OEM tolerances and reassembly by certified technicians — a documented process, not a salvage refresh.
- Reverse-Engineered Reliability: Original design defects are eliminated during remanufacturing, so your replacement engine is built better than the one that failed.
- Drop-In for TPI Applications: Transfer your tuned-port intake manifold, throttle body, fuel injection, distributorless ignition, water pump and accessories from the original engine.
- Iron Heads, H.O. Valvetrain: Correct center-bolt valve cover configuration with head castings 083/217 — matches the original engine’s appearance and performance.
- Massive Aftermarket Support: Every part for the third-gen 350 is available across Europe — from gaskets and sensors to performance cams and TPI upgrades.
- Crated for Safe EU Transport: Vacuum-sealed, corrosion-treated, steel-crate packed and dispatched with full tracking and insurance.
Vehicle Fitment — DCN7 Applications
The VEGE DCN7 Camaro engine long block is the correct variant for the VIN-8 350 applications:
- Chevrolet Camaro (1987–1992): All 5.7L / 350 V8 models including IROC-Z and Z28
- Pontiac Firebird & Trans Am (1987–1992): All 5.7L / 350 V8 models including Formula
- Swap & Custom Builds: The H.O. roller-cam 350 is a prized foundation for hot rods, restomods and performance builds
Verify before ordering: The DCN7 covers the VIN-8 H.O. 350 with 2-bolt mains, 1-piece rear seal and center-bolt valve covers (head castings 083/217, block castings 638/548/148). Earlier third-gen Camaros used the 305 — a different engine entirely — and truck 350s use different configurations. Send us your VIN and our technical team will confirm the DCN7 is the exact match for your car.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the VEGE DCN7 a drop-in replacement for my IROC-Z or Trans Am?
Yes — the DCN7 is built to the exact 1987–1992 H.O. 350 specification. Transfer your TPI intake, throttle body, fuel injection, ignition, water pump, balancer and flexplate from the original engine. Confirm your VIN-8 application with our team before ordering.
Will this fit my 1985 or 1986 Camaro?
The 1985–1986 Camaro used the 305 V8 (and the L69 305 H.O.) — not the 350. The DCN7 is for 1987–1992 350 applications only. If you’re doing an engine swap from 305 to 350, the DCN7 is an excellent foundation — contact us for swap guidance.
Does the DCN7 include the TPI intake manifold and fuel injection?
No — this is a long block. It includes the assembled block, H.O. roller-cam valvetrain, cylinder heads and timing components. Your tuned-port intake manifold, throttle body, injectors, ignition, oil pan, valve covers, water pump, balancer and flexplate all transfer from the original engine.
Can I use the DCN7 in a hot rod or restomod build?
Absolutely — the H.O. roller-cam 350 is a premium foundation for street rods and restomods. Its 1-piece rear seal and roller cam make it a favorite for carbureted builds with aftermarket intakes too. Tell us your project and we’ll advise.
Do I need to return my old engine core?
Core policy varies by order type — many VEGE engines are available with no core required. Contact NH Race Engine for current terms.
