Workshop Tools & Calculators
The same quick math we use at the bench in Kessel — displacement, compression, CFM, power conversions, quarter-mile estimates and propeller speed. Free, instant, no sign-up.
Engine Displacement
bore × stroke × cylinders
Displacement

Compression Ratio
static CR from swept + clearance volume
Clearance volume = chamber + gasket + deck ± piston dome/dish, all in cc. Typical V8: 70–95 cc.
Static Compression Ratio
—
Carb / Throttle CFM
airflow requirement sizing
Required Airflow
—
CFM @ wide-open throttle
Power Converter
HP ↔ kW ↔ PS
Converted Power

Torque Converter
lb-ft ↔ Nm
Converted Torque

Quarter-Mile Estimator
Hale formula — weight & power
Use weight with driver, and wheel horsepower (not crank). Assumes good traction.
Estimated ¼ Mile
—
Propeller Speed
pitch, ratio & slip → boat speed
Estimated Boat Speed
—
A note on accuracy: these calculators use the standard industry formulas (displacement, static CR, CFM at 100% VE scaling, Hale quarter-mile estimate, theoretical prop speed minus slip). They're the same starting points we use — but real builds depend on cam timing, altitude, traction, hull and a hundred other details. For exact numbers, that's what the dyno cell is for.
Want Exact Numbers, Not Estimates?
Our dyno measures real power to the wheel — with printed data sheets for every run. Or tell us your target and we'll spec the build to hit it.
